Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah

Seven-Day Bhagwat Katha

Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah is a powerful spiritual ritual of liberation, in which devotees listen to the sacred Bhagwat Katha continuously for seven days. Through this divine narration, devotees attain inner peace, love for God, and ultimately moksha (liberation). In the age of Kaliyug, it is considered one of the most accessible paths to salvation, as it helps cleanse the mind of negative traits such as lust, anger, greed, and ego, guiding the soul toward the supreme abode. Just as King Parikshit attained liberation through listening to the Bhagwat Katha, both the narrator and the listeners participate with pure devotion and faith.
Devotees should renounce negative qualities such as lust, anger, pride, greed, ego, violence, and arrogance.
One should practice truthfulness, purity, compassion, simplicity, humility, silence, and maintain a joyful and peaceful state of mind.
The Katha is heard over seven consecutive days, each day holding its own spiritual significance. The final day concludes with Havan (sacred fire ritual), Kalash Visarjan, and Bhandara (community feast).
